Message from Louise Zacharie, Notre Dame High School, Class of 1977

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Sr. Juliette Collignon. She came to us at Notre Dame High School in Central Falls as a guidance counselor for the 1976-1977 academic year. Unbeknownst to us students at the start of the year, it was to be the last year of existence for our beloved high school. I have fond memories of my frequent encounters with Sr. Juliette. In looking back, it had to be quite difficult for her to not only offer guidance to us outgoing seniors, but to help the many non-graduating students find a place to continue their education. I recall that some of the juniors were allowed the option of taking summer courses in order to fulfill their credit requirements and receive a cherished diploma bearing the name of Notre Dame High School. I believe nine students took advantage of this opportunity. I can't help but think that Sr. Juliette played a roll in making this option possible. I am grateful for all of her efforts on behalf of her students at Notre Dame. I extend my condolences to her family and her fellow Sisters of Saint Anne.
