DEAR  FAMILY   I AM SO SADDENED BY THE DEATH OF ED.  i HAVE BEEN THINKING BACK AT ALL THE GREAT TIMES ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD AND DOWN THE CAPE. ED PLAYED SUCH AN IMPORTANT ROLE  BEING A GREAT FOOTBALL COACH BUT MORE  THAN THAT HE WAS A GREAT ROLE MODEL HE GENUINELY CARED FOR  THE YOUNGSTERS.

To the Beland Family:  I met Butch in 1981 at JSA.We saw  each other every day,shared  a smile and talked about our kids quite often.  Now things are different but the memories will always remain.  I hold a special place in my heart for him.  I also offer the Beland family my sincere condolences.             Best of luck to his family,

Dear Beland family.  

    Coach beland will forever hold a place in my heart.  I can only hope that my children are able to meet and be coached by some one so humble and truly caring.  The memories I have I will share with my children of a man so selfless in his pursuit to coach and mentor so many young men.  His smile and caring nature always was able to calm me down before a big game.  God bless you coach beland and may you rest in sweet peace in football heaven.

  I am terribly sorry to hear of your loss.  You are all certainly in my thoughts.  I have been looking forward to this football season for quite some time.  My son is 5 and we have been planning to go to Bellingham football games all summer and I couldn't wait to see Coach Beland again after all these years.  We are still going to go and my thoughts will always be with you.  I will miss that gentle smile.

To all of the Beland family I can not say how sorry and sad I was to hear of his death. He was a wonderful customer of the Ritz Dinette and will always be the quiet guy who loved to sit in the booth and read the paper and never never complain about anything. I will miss cooking his breakfast of half bacon half sausage and homefries with onions. He was a very special person and all of us will miss him...stay strong

Randy and My Girls,

I sit here at School today with the heaviest Heart I have ever had.  It has been heavy since I received your call Saturday Morning.  I love your Dad.  Love him like a brother.  All four of you know deep down inside I love each of you.  I have for many years.  You are all a part of me.  My darling wife Anne and I will make it up there Saturday morning.  As you know we play our first game Friday night and I KNOW deep down Coach Beland will be looking down on me, my kids and my coaches guiding us to do the right things.  Right after the game we will head to the airport as we both need to be with all of you.  I hope all goes as well as can be expected Friday night and I will see all of you Saturday.

You truly have ALL of my love.
