William E. Bowser, Jr.  of Sanford, Maine and formerly of Waltham passed away Nov 7, 2016 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice following a brief battle with cancer.  He was born in Waltham, the son of the late William E. Bowser, Sr. and Edna (Sullivan) Bowser.  He was a graduate of the Waltham Senior High School Class of 1965 and a Veteran of the United States Navy as an Aviation Electrician.  He was employed by Verizon as a Central Office Technician as well as Assistant Business manager of the IBEW Local 2325.  Following 38 years of service, he retired to Maine in 2009.  He enjoyed camping in Maine, bowling, drinking his coffee, reading the newspaper in the early morning hours at Pine Point, Old Orchard Beach, and Wells Beach, ME and being with his dogs and close friends. 

He is survived by Jean M. Bowser of Alfred, ME, Ms. Pamela Lavoie of Sanford, ME, his sisters Carole (Bowser) DeNorscia and her husband Ralph of Southborough, Betty Ann (Bowser) Isaacson of Ashland and was predeceased by his sister Nancy.  He leaves many nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters-in laws.

Calling hours will be held at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home(www.CollinsFuneral.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough on Monday Nov 21 from 5:00- 8:00 p.m. Burial with military honors will be held Tuesday November 22 at 11:15 a.m. in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
