Obituary

Marlborough- Teodoro Antonio Noj, 77, of Marlborough died Monday November 15, 2021 at his home after his battle with dementia illness. Better known as Antonio, nicknamed “Tono”, he was the husband of Beatriz (Guerrero) Noj for the past 30 years. He was born and raised  in Guatemala City, Guatemala the son of the late Cesario and Juana (Nij) Noj. Arriving in  Boston in April 1975 to pursue the American Dream and provide a better future for his family. 

 

And that he did, Antonio was a very hard worker known as “Ted the Papercutter” when he worked for Ikon Paper for 20 years retiring in 2007. Antonio was a very happy, funny and loving person with a joke ready to go. Soccer was one of his biggest loves. He helped start the “Guatemala” soccer team in Boston back in the 70’s, “Equipo America” in the 80’s where his sons, many friends and family played. Music was another love of his. Singing Rancheras and playing the keyboard for his church choir, beginning at Blessed Sacrament Church in Jamaica Plain, then on Saturdays St. Luke the Evangelist in Westborough and Saint Mary of the Assumption in Milford and most recently at Immaculate Conception Church, Marlborough until his health robbed him of that joy. He loved his family most of all. 

 

Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Cesar Noj & his spouse Nydia Aponte of Lowell and Wilfredo Antonio & his wife Jessica (Miller) Noj of Framingham; two daughters, Myra & husband Scott Morris of Lowell; and Nancy Noj-O’Toole & husband Joseph O’Toole of Roslindale and a step-son Edward Pepen & his wife Evelise (Fernandez) of Dominican Republic; a step-daughter Angelina (Pepen) & Husband Luis Brea of Connecticut; two brothers, Francisco Noj of Guatemala and Geronino Noj of Hyde Park; one sister Maria Victoria Noj of Marlborough; twelve grandchildren; twelve great great grandchildren. 

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Thursday November 18 at 9:00 AM in Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5-8 PM in the Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. All are invited to sign his online guestbook at www.collinsfuneral.com
