Sr. Annette Boyer, SSA

Marlboro- Sr. Annette Boyer (Sr. M. James Edward), a Sister of St. Anne, for 65 years, died July 7 at Alliance Health at Marie Esther Center in this city following a period of declining health. Born in Worcester, she was the eighth of 8 children born to Arthur and Blanche (Rondeau) Boyer. 

Educated by the Sisters of St. Anne, it is the Congregation she later joined and committed her 65 years of vowed life to service in the Church. She was a graduate of the former St. Anthony’s elementary school and former Holy Name High School both in Worcester. She earned a BA in Education from Anna Maria College in Paxton and an MA degree in History from Assumption College, now Assumption University in Worcester. 

Sister Annette spent 30 years in education as a challenging, well liked, and well-remembered elementary and secondary level teacher, a school administrator and as a librarian. She served in schools staffed by the Sisters of St. Anne at St Joseph School in Cohoes, New York, at St Matthew’s School in Central Falls, RI and at the former Holy Name School and Central Catholic High School, at the former St. Stephen School as teacher, librarian, and assistant principal in the Diocese of Worcester. 

Sister Annette was predeceased by her parents and by six of her siblings: Claire Krzyzewski, Eugene, Paul, Jeanne Defosse, Renée, and Edward. She leaves to grieve her brother James, her loving nieces and nephews and extended family, her dear best friend for 70 years, Sr. Muriel Audette SSA and all her Sisters of St. Anne Family. 

Viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 11 from 4 pm to 6 pm in St. Anne Chapel at Alliance Health, 720 Boston Post Road East, in Marlboro. The funeral liturgy will be Wednesday, July 12 at 10:30 am in St. Anne Chapel at Alliance Health. The burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
