Samantha R. Smith

Marlborough- It is with extreme sadness that we have to announce that Samantha R. Smith, 27, formerly of Marlborough and Hudson, died suddenly at home on Monday September 27, 2021. She was born in Framingham, the daughter of Carey H. Smith and Cheryl A. (Penney) Smith. Samantha was raised and educated in Marlborough, and worked for many years in the hotel industry and at various horse stables in the area, including Boston Hunt & Pace in Stow.  She loved horseback riding, animals, nature and vacationing at her favorite place in the world, Lakehurst Camps in Damariscotta, Maine. (She was not very good at geography, but loved Dunkin Donuts and Venmo).

Samantha was a bright light to whom people were drawn. She was funny, witty, at times goofy, and always encouraging and supportive of her family and friends.  Samantha  was extremely close to her family and was very protective of those she loved and cared about. She brought joy and happiness to so many people.  

She leaves her father Carey H. Smith of Shrewsbury and her mother Cheryl A. (Penney) Smith of Marlborough; two brothers, Tyler Smith, and his wife Lisa of Southborough and Dylan Smith of Boston; two nieces, Rose and Emmie of Southborough; a large extended family, and many close friends including Holly, Cassandra and Emily. She also leaves her dog Mac and her cat Miss Kitty.

Calling hours will be held Saturday October 2 from 3-6 PM in the funeral home.

Following cremation, burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Buddy Dog Humane Society, 151 Boston Post Road, Sudbury MA 01776.
