Arlington- Rose A. “Sis” (McDonough) Nolin, 100, of Arlington died peacefully at her home with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Charles G. Nolin who died in 1984. She was born, raised and educated in South Boston, the daughter of the late Patrick J. and Rose A. (Gormley) McDonough. She worked as a receptionist at Harvard University for over 30 years. Rose was devoted to her family and loved cooking and baking. She was kind, caring and compassionate, often caring for family members and friends during their illnesses.
She leaves her son Kevin F. Nolin and his wife, Meghan of Marlborough; a sister Helen “Honey” Sullivan of Hingham; three grandsons, Christopher C. Nolin of Arlington; Ian K. Nolin and Kevin F. Nolin, Jr. both of Marlborough; many nephews and nieces as well as great nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her daughter Theresa Mary Nolin of Arlington and by five brothers, William, Patrick, John, Eugene and James McDonough and five sisters, Agnes, Theresa, Mary, Irene and Alice.
There are no calling hours. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in Rose’s name may be made to The New England Center for Children (www.necc.org).
