Marlborough- Romelia “Romy” Alvarez Solis de Salvatierra, 62, of Marlborough died Sunday June 13, 2021 at Marlborough Hospital. She was the wife of Walter Salvatierra for the past 46 years. She was born, raised and educated in Guastatoya, El Progreso, Guatemala, the daughter of Jose Domingo Alvarez and Prudencia Solis and moved to Marlborough in 1998. She owned and operated Romy’s Bakery in Marlborough for the past 18 years. She was devoted to her family and her work at Romy’s Bakery and was always happy.
Besides her husband Walter, she leaves three children, Walter Salvatierra, Jr. of Marlborough, Karla Salvatierra of Marlborough and Sindy Archila and her husband Erwin of Dalton, Georgia; three brother Cesar and Arturo Alvarez both of Los Angeles, California and Rolando Alvarez of Guatemala; two sisters, Herlinda Alvarez of Los Angeles, California and Olga Alvarez of Oxnard, California; five grandchildren, Josh, Karla, Kailey, Allison and Tony; many nephews and nieces and cousins.
Visitation will be held Thursday June 17 from 6-9 PM in the Collins Funeral Home,378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. Burial will be private following cremation. All are invited to sign Romy’s online guestbook at www.collinsfuneral.com.
