Richard E. Schofield

Marlborough- Richard E. Schofield, 60, of Marlborough died Monday June 19, 2023 at UMASS Medical Center in Worcester after a brief illness.  

He was born, raised and educated in Marlborough, the son of the late Ronald E. Schofield and Carol A. (Palmer) Voshell.  He was a residential roofer in the MetroWest area for many years.  He was a gifted artist and always the life of the party. He was an avid collector of medieval artifacts. Always present for his family and friends, and loved by those that knew him.  He will fondly be remembered for his laughter, humor, and his quick wit.  Forever in our hearts and always missed. 

He leaves a son, Hunter G. Schofield of North Carolina and a daughter, Kayla Johnson; two brothers, Robert J. Schofield and his wife Charlene Lantron of Marlborough and Harley Voshell of Marlborough; two sisters Lisa M. Kelley and her husband Walter of Marlborough and Lori A. Lajoie of Marlborough and her significant other Rich Hopfmann; his sister-in-law Katherine Voshell of Oak Bluffs; many nephews, nieces and cousins.  He was predeceased by two brothers Wayne Schofield and Eric Voshell.

Calling hours will be held Thursday June 29 from 6-8 PM in the Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to SMOC (South Middlesex Opportunity Council).  All are invited to sign his online guestbook at collinsfuneral.com.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
