Lynda Milliken Obituary

Marlborough-Lynda J. (Osborn) Milliken, 75, of Marlborough died peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, February 24, 2023.  She was the loving wife of Arthur L. Milliken, Jr. for the past 55 years.

Lynda was born and raised in Waltham, the daughter of Richard and Jeanne (Casey) Osborn and was a graduate of Waltham High School Class of 1965 where she met Art and her lifelong best friends whom she cherished so much. One of her greatest joys in life was being a mom and Grammy. Lynda loved to dance, spend time at the beach, and cheer on her grandchildren at their sports events! There was nothing she loved more than her annual beach vacation with her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a member of the ITAM and American Legion Post 132 where she made many memories with wonderful friends. Lynda shared her love of dance with countless students when she took over her mom’s studio, Barbara Jeanne School of Dance in Waltham and then later taught at Sue’s Dance Studio in Marlborough for many years.  She shared her love for children as a preschool teacher in the infant room of Next Generation Children’s Center.  Anyone who knew Lynda will remember her as the sweetest soul with an infectious laugh and a smile that lit up every room. If we all lived a life like her, we’d live in a world full of dancing, singing, laughing and smiling! She was loved by so many and will be deeply missed.

In addition to her husband Art, she leaves a son, Richard A. Milliken and his wife Marycate of North Easton; three daughters, Stacy A. Reynolds and her husband Michael of Marlborough, Colleen M. English and her husband Robert of Ashland and Pamela J. VanBuskirk and her husband Joseph of Marlborough; a brother Earl H. Osborn and his wife Karen of Argyle, Texas; 2 sisters-in-law, Mary Milliken of Waltham and Donna (Phil) Wilgus of Hudson; 11 grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Hunter, Joey, Madison, Colin, Tierney, Katy, Ava, Casey, Ben, Molly and Emma; many nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law Lorraine (Gus) Muizulis of Waltham and brother-in-law Robert (Jeannette) Milliken of Hudson.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 2 at 10 AM in the Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough.
