Katherine A. Hamill

On Sunday, December 13, 2020  Katherine A Hamill, loving wife and mother of five children, passed away at the age of 72, after a brief illness. Katherine was born on September  25, 1948 in Waltham MA to Albert Joseph and Pearl Evelyn (Macleod) Kelley. Katherine is a graduate of Natick High School, and after graduation went on to start her own family. On December

29, 1995 Katherine married John T. Hamill Jr.  Katherine started her career in Finance/Payroll at Zayre (after trying her hands in a catering business). She then moved on to Ames, and then Staples for over 20 years. Katherine loved going to the beach so much that she took her  profession and settled in Old Orchard Beach, Maine continuing her career working at Spring Harbor Hospital in Westbrook, ME. She officially retired in 2015. Katherine loved her family

 more than anything else. When raising her children, she always had Sunday get-togethers, where everyone was invited to gather so she could feed everyone. As her children grew up, she always wanted everyone to be together in Old Orchard Beach for holidays,  like 4th of July. Her most favorite family gathering was Christmas, which was celebrated on New Years so that her children could be with their in-laws on Christmas. She found joy in giving to everyone else and loved to see her kids, and then grandchildren's faces when they opened a gift from her.  

Katherine was an amazing mother  and, yes, a cook. She always had a pot on the stove when she knew someone was coming over. Even if you were not hungry, you were going to eat! Katherine loved her Dunkin’  Donuts coffee and scratch tickets. For many years she did not miss a single Saturday Bingo, and even snuck in a weeknight game here and there. She enjoyed shopping, and was always finding a reason to go to the grocery store, Walmart or Kohl’s. She loved a  good bargain and would buy things because “it was on sale”! Katherine is survived  by her husband John T Hamill Jr and her five children; Stephen L. Campbell Jr, William A.J. Campbell and his wife Valentina, James M. Campbell and his long time partner Terri Howe, Kimberly A.M. Gonyaw, Jason J. Campbell and his wife Joanne, Melisa, Shamus

 Jr, Melanie and her sister Peggy. Katherine’s 15 grandchildren Amber, Joshua , Jacob , Kayla, Justin, Alexander, Brianna, Anthony, Tyler, Julia, Jared, Shamus Jr, Noah, Barrite and Missy, as well as 3 great grandchildren Lillian, Savana, Autumn and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She also took in many people over the years who consider her as a mom of their own. Katherine was preceded in death by her father, Albert J Kelley,Mother Pearl E Kelley, and Siblings Alice, Albert Jr, Walter, and Carol.  

Calling hours will be held Saturday from 9-10:30 AM in the Collins Funeral Home(www.CollinsFuneral.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. A graveside service will be held Saturday December 19 at 11:15 AM in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough. .
