Obituary

Jose Eduardo Motta,48, of Hudson, MA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday August 7, 2022, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Jose was born in Itanhomi, M.G., Brazil, on January 17, 1974, the only son of Wilton and Marlene (Braz) Motta. He immigrated to the United States 10 years ago and worked as a carpenter. True to his Brazilian heritage he was a fierce soccer enthusiast and he also loved horses. Jose was a vibrant person who was full of life. He had a strong will to live and fought hard against his cancer until his last breath. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. 

In addition to his parents, he is also survived by three children, Maria Eduarda Loures Motta, Eduardo Anthony Soares Motta and Nina De Oliveira Motta; 2 sisters, Katia Cilene Motta and her spouse Lionel Santos and Kenia Cristine Motta Zeghzeghi and her spouse Jose Ibrahim; his niece Caroline Motta and nephew, Scott Santos.

A period of visitation will be held from 7-8:30 pm, immediately followed by a Celebration of His Life at 8:30pm, on Thursday, August 11 at Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln St., Marlborough, MA. Burial will be held at a later date in Itanhomi, Minas Gerais, Brazil. 
 

José Eduardo Motta, 48, de Hudson, MA, faleceu pacificamente, cercado por sua família amorosa no domingo, 7 de agosto de 2022, no Brigham and Women's Hospital em Boston, após uma corajosa batalha contra o câncer. José nasceu em Itanhomi, M.G., Brasil, em 17 de janeiro de 1974, filho único de Wilton e Marlene (Braz) Motta. Ele imigrou para os Estados Unidos há 10 anos e trabalhou como carpinteiro. Fiel à sua herança brasileira, ele era um grande entusiasta do futebol e também adorava cavalos. José era uma pessoa vibrante e cheia de vida. Ele tinha uma forte vontade de viver e lutou muito contra o câncer até seu último suspiro. Ele fará muita falta a todos que o conheceram. Além dos pais, deixa ainda três filhos, Maria Eduarda Loures Motta, Eduardo Anthony Soares Motta e Nina De Oliveira Motta; 2 irmãs, Katia Cilene Motta e seu esposo Lionel Santos e Kenia Cristine Motta Zeghzeghi e seu esposo José Ibrahim; sua sobrinha Caroline Motta e sobrinho, Scott Santos. Um período de visitação será realizado das 19h às 20h30, seguido imediatamente por uma Celebração de Sua Vida às 20h30, na quinta-feira, 11 de agosto, na Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln St., Marlborough, MA. O sepultamento será realizado posteriormente em Itanhomi, Minas Gerais, Brasil.
