Ezelita “Grace” Caetano Rocha

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ezelita Rocha. Better known as “Graça”, or Grace, Ezelita was a loving mother, grandmother, and loyal friend. Above all, she was a devout Christian who never faltered from her faith, making her purpose in life to serve God and glorify his name.

On the afternoon of February 23rd, 2022, Grace was involved in an unexplainable accident involving a motor vehicle, resulting in her passing. An event which forever changed the lives of all family members and loved ones, and the many people she touched during her time here. She will be forever remembered as the mother to many, loyal friend who was always willing to help even when she needed help the most, and a defined servant of God. Through reason, we cannot understand why her time was cut so short, but by faith we accept that this was God’s will.

Ezelita Caetano Rocha, 67, died Friday February 25, 2022 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center. She was born, raised and educated in São Mateus,  Espírito Santo, Brazil and was the daughter of the late Agenor Caetano and Claudina Scalfane Caetano. She leaves her son Patrick Rocha and his wife Flavia of Lawrence; her daughter Monick Caetano Dornelas and her husband Herbert of Webster; a brother Valdeci Caetano of Espírito Santo, Brazil and her sister Naldina Perreira of Webster; her grandchildren Julia Rocha and Jonathan Rocha of Lawrence, and Joseph Dornelas of Webster. She was a member of Maranatha Christian Church in Everett, MA, a place she held dear to her heart. There, she would often volunteer to watch over the children and help with the events of the church. Even when she was tired she looked forward to being present and being of help in such events as she trusted to rest was to be in God’s presence and of service to him. She often offered to give people rides to the church and wanted to leave no one behind. Grace loved to cook and enjoyed being around the kitchen, looking forward to what she would cook next, and would always make a little bit of what everyone liked, that way no one felt left out. She enjoyed going for a walk with her sister Naldina in the afternoon and after their walk they would have their afternoon coffee, every day. In the summers, Ezelita loved to spend time with her grandchildren by the pool. She enjoyed gardening and making flower arrangements. The legacy Ezelita leaves is one of love for family, hard work, honesty, determination, generosity, above all commitment to God’s word, faith, and a genuine love for others. 

A funeral service will be held March 4th, 2022 at 11am in the Maranatha Christian Church, 286 Boston Post Road East, Marlborough, MA. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough, MA. É com pesar que anunciamos o falecimento de Ezelita Rocha.  Mais conhecida como Graça, Ezelita foi uma mãe e avó amorosa, amiga leal, mas acima de tudo, era uma cristã devota que nunca vacilou em sua fé, tendo como propósito de vida servir a Deus e glorificar seu nome.

Na tarde do dia 23 de fevereiro de 2022, Graça se envolveu em um acidente inexplicável envolvendo um veículo motorizado, resultando em seu falecimento.  Um evento que mudou para sempre a vida de todos os membros da família e entes queridos, e das muitas pessoas que ela tocou durante seu tempo aqui.  Ela será para sempre lembrada como a mãe de muitos, uma amiga leal que estava sempre disposta a ajudar mesmo quando ela mais precisava de ajuda, e uma serva definida de Deus.  Pela razão não podemos entender por que seu tempo aqui foi tão curto, mas pela fé aceitamos que essa foi a vontade de Deus.

Ezelita Caetano Rocha, 67 anos, faleceu sexta-feira, 25 de fevereiro de 2022, no UMASS Memorial Medical Center.  Ela nasceu, foi criada e educada em São Mateus, Espírito Santo, Brasil e era filha do falecido Agenor Caetano e Claudina Scalfane Caetano.  Ela deixa o filho Patrick Rocha e sua esposa Flávia de Lawrence; sua filha Monick Caetano Dornelas e seu marido Herbert de Webster; um irmão Valdeci Caetano do Espírito Santo, Brasil e sua irmã Naldina Perreira de Webster;  seus netos Julia Rocha e Jonathan Rocha de Lawrence, e Joseph Dornelas de Webster.  Ela era membra da Igreja Cristã Maranata em Everett, MA, um lugar que ela tinha muito próximo ao seu coração.  Lá, ela muitas vezes se voluntariava para cuidar das crianças e ajudar nos eventos cristãos.  Mesmo quando estava cansada, ela ansiava por estar presente nos cultos e ser de ajuda em eventos, confiando que descansar era estar na presença de Deus e a serviço dele.  Ela frequentemente oferecia para dar carona às pessoas até a igreja e não queria deixar ninguém para trás.  Graça amava cozinhar e gostava de estar na cozinha, pensando sempre no que iria cozinhar em seguida, e sempre fazia um pouco do que todo mundo gostava, assim ninguém se sentia excluído.  Gostava de passear com a irmã Naldina à tarde e depois da caminhada tomavam o cafezinho, todos os dias.  No verão, Ezelita adorava passar o tempo com os netos à beira da piscina.  Ela gostava de jardinagem e fazer arranjos de flores.  O legado que Ezelita deixa é de amor pela família, de trabalho duro, honestidade, determinação, generosidade, acima de tudo compromisso com a palavra de Deus, fé e um amor genuíno pelos outros.

Um culto fúnebre será realizado dia 4 de março de 2022 às 11h na Igreja Cristã Maranata, 286 Boston Post Road East, Marlborough, MA.  O enterro seguirá no Cemitério Evergreen, Wilson Street, Marlborough, MA.  A visitação será realizada no dia 3 de março, das 18h às 21h, na Collins Funeral Home (collinsfuneral.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.  Todos estão convidados a assinar o livro de visitas online da Graça em www.collinsfuneral.com.  Os preparativos do funeral estão sob a direção da Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
