Effie A. Tompkins

Marlborough- Effie Ann (Dunn) Tompkins, 88, of Marlborough died Thursday October 8, 2020 at The Reservoir Center. She was the wife of William P. Tompkins who died in 1985. She was born, raised and educated in Yonkers, NY the daughter of the late Kyran and Anna (O’Hare) Dunn. She was a graduate of Gorton High School in Yonkers, NY and also graduated from cochran school of Nursing in  Yonkers as a Registered Nurse. Effie was a RN at Marlborough Hospital working on Granger 2 for 22 years retiring in 2010. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and a Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed reading, and was outgoing, friendly and respectful.

She leaves three sons, William Tompkins of Elizaville, NY, Steven J. Tompkins of Marlborough and Michael K. Tompkins of Poughkeepsie, NY; two daughters, Anne M. Tompkins of Seattle and Ellen M. Tompkins of St. Petersburg, FL; five grandchildren; two great granddaughters. She was pre-deceased by her siblings, Edward, James and Arlene.
