DUNEDIN, FL – Diane M. (Marchese) Ohlson, 78, of Dunedin, FL, formerly of Shrewsbury, MA, died February 7, 2022 after a long illness. She was the wife of Alan (Al) Ohlson who predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester, MA, daughter of the late Nunziato (Harry) and Rose (DeMalia) Marchese and lived most of her life in the greater Worcester area. She graduated from Venerini Academy in Worcester and spent a brief period at Anna Maria College. She went on to a lengthy and successful career in the insurance industry and retired from Insurance Marketing Agencies in Worcester. Diane loved to travel and was an avid skier. She saw most of the United States and traveled extensively through Europe and parts of Asia. She was part of a large family, on both her mother and father's side, with whom she remained very close.
In retirement, she relocated to Dunedin, FL, where she developed several close friendships. Diane was involved in various clubs celebrating her Italian heritage and enjoyed attending Sunday Mass at Saint Michael The Archangel Catholic Church. She was a member of Daughters of Italy, in Clearwater, FL. She spent her days in Florida attending events hosted by the various clubs to which she belonged, reading books with her toes in the sand at the nearby beach, or hosting her various relatives and friends who would often visit. She will be deeply missed by all that had the good fortune to be part of her life.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday March 19 at Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street, Marlborough, Massachusetts. All are invited to sign Diane's online guestbook at www.collinsfuneral.com.
