MARLBOROUGH- Corey J. Hafford, 19, of Marlborough died Sunday December 21, 2008. He was born in Worcester, raised in Marlborough, the son of and Michael G. and Helen M. (Portanova) Hafford of Bolton. He leaves his brother Anthony M. Hafford of Bolton; maternal grandparents James and Carol (Mehigan) Portanova of Marlborough; paternal grandmother Geraldine (Boulieu) Hafford of Ashland, Maine; three uncles, James Portanova of Medfield, Guy Hafford, Jr. of Shrewsbury and Mark Hafford of Ashland, Maine; three aunts, Nancy Murphy of Marlborough, Tammy Brailey of Shrewsbury and Dawn Portanova of Dorchester; many cousins. He was educated in Marlborough and was in the process of enlisting in the US Navy. Corey loved music, played the guitar and drums and enjoyed reading, the outdoors, computers and animals, especially his dog "Rex". Even at his young age, Corey had touched a great many lives and with his warm personality, he could light up a room.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday December 29, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Matthias Church, 409 Hemenway Street, Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street. Calling hours will be held Sunday December 28th from 4-7 p.m. in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.SFCFH.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
