Marlborough- Blossom Laverdure, 87, of Marlborough died Saturday February 18, 2023 at Blackstone Valley Health & Rehabilitation after a long illness with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was the wife of the late David T. Laverdure, who died in 1986.
She was born, raised and educated in Worcester, the daughter of the late Henry and Muriel (Rafuse) Brunelle.
She was a former member of Immaculate Conception Church in Marlborough.
She enjoyed bowling, dancing, knitting, crocheting, sewing, playing cards and cooking.
Blossom spent many years as an assembly worker at factories located in Worcester and Marlborough, in later years working in school cafeteria and then becoming a childcare provider.
She will be remembered as a sweet bubbly woman who always welcomed everyone into her home. She always loved spending time with her family, planning family gatherings, trips to Myrtle Beach with her sisters, camping and hanging out by the pool. Blossom adored her grandchildren. She cared for them each when they were young and always had warm chocolate chip cookies when they came home from school. She loved teaching them card games, enjoyed a day at the beach and being at their soccer games.
She leaves two sons, Mark J. Laverdure (Debbie) of Maine and Paul D. Laverdure of Millbury; three daughters, Michele A. Laverdure of Whitinsville, Marie T. Warman (George) of Tennessee and Patricia M. Laverdure of Whitinsville; five brothers, Francis, Stephen, Paul, Chester and Elliot Brunelle; four sisters, Doris Miller, Janis Morin, Beulah Benoit and Muriel Johnson; grandchildren; Tara, Joclyn, John and Zachary, Chris and Josh and Otis; a great grandson Liam; many nephews, nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings, Lawrence, Gary, Shirley, Evelyn, Joyce and June.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Thursday February 23 at 10:00 AM in Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street, Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street.
