LEOMINSTER- William P. "Bill" LaForte, 63 of Leominster and formerly of Marlborough died WEDNESDAY March 21, 2007 in Worcester after a short illness.. He leaves a son Clayton J. LaForte of Amesbury; four daughters, Joi P. Keddy of Athol, Traci I. LaForte of Amesbury, Heidi E. Demmons of Franklin, NH and Kenina I. LaForte of Worcester; a sister Debra I. Verseckes of Marlborough; six grandsons and seven granddaughters. He was the brother of the late James E. LaForte of Marlborough who died many years ago. Born in Marlborough, the son of the late Albert and Madeline (Temple) Verseckes and was a 1960 graduate of Marlborough High School. Mr. LaForte was a contractor for Allied Construction for 10 years. Previously, he was employed at Genrad Corp. in Bolton and Shanklin Company in Ayer, where he was a supervisor in the sheet metal department. Bill loved spending time with his family, friends and cat "Buddy Buddka", and will be remembered for his great sense of humor and one liners. A graveside service will be held Wednesday March 28, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in Maplewood Cemetery, Pleasant Street, Marlborough. Calling hours will be held Tuesday March 27 from 5-8 p.m. in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.SFCFH.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. Flowers may be sent or donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701. .
