Obituary

MARLBOROUGH - William Bruce-Tagoe, 29, of Marlborough died at home, Monday, July 6, 2009. He was born in Accra, Ghana, Africa, the son of Betty Myers of Marlborough and Conrad Bruce-Tagoe of Worcester. A graduate of Natick High School where he was an All-Star soccer player, he attended the Institute of International Studies in Madrid, Spain through the exchange program while a student at Bentley College where he received a bachelor's degree in accounting. He later became a Certified Public Accountant. During his college years, he served internships at both KPMG and Liberty Mutual where he also worked during his career, as well as at Bank of America and Deutsche Bank. William enjoyed reading, playing tennis and basketball, playing the guitar, and politics. He was soft spoken, religious, a true gentleman in every sense of the word, and was very respectful to all throughout his life. Besides his parents, he leaves a brother, Edwin Bruce-Tagoe of Natick; his maternal grandmother, Florence Myers of Ghana; two uncles, Hansen Myers of Ghana and Lionel Addo of North Attleboro; an aunt, Peggy Myers of Ghana; a cousin, Sheila Sam and her husband, Yooku, of Worcester; and a close friend, Ebo Sam of Worcester.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 15 at 10 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church, 30 Tyler-Prentice Road, Worcester. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, July 14, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.CollinsFuneral.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. Instead of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
