Marlborough — Vilmar Marques "Gigante" Da Silva, 57, of Marlborough, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Marlborough Hospital after being stricken ill at home.
Born, raised, and educated in Governador Valadares, Minas Gerais, Brazil, Gigante was the beloved son of the late Jose Joao Da Silva and Delci Marques Da Silva.
Gigante worked for many years at Classic Pizza in Marlborough, where he was well known and warmly regarded. He was a devoted member of Bethel Presbyterian Church in Marlborough. He greatly enjoyed churrasco, cooking, and watching his favorite soccer team, Cruzeiro, compete. He also loved a good movie or following a television series.
Above all, Gigante cherished time spent with family and friends. He was especially fond of his three nephews, Lucas, Nicholas and Pedro Henrique, and took great joy in their lives. Known as the life of the party, Gigante had an incredible sense of humor and a rare gift for making everyone smile and laugh. His generosity was boundless—he often sent money to Brazil to support charities that helped those in need and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone who needed help. With a huge heart, he shared his love freely with all who knew him.
He is survived by his three sisters, Luciana Camara of Marlborough; Lucimar Marques Da Silva and Luciene Marques Da Silva, both of Brazil; a nephew and two nieces in Brazil, Bruno, Gabriela and Sofia. He was predeceased by his parents. Also my brother in law that I had as real brothers. Junior Camara, Anderson Souza e Wellington Cruz.
He was also part of the Camara/Rodrigues family of which he called His Family in the USA. Tio Gelcir, Tia Suely, Tio Ziel, Tia Iolanda,Tio Cristian, Tia Gel, Tio Bruno, Tia My and nephews of my heart Christiane, Emily, Mathew, David, Noah e Nathan.
