MARLBOROUGH - Thomas F. Tobin, 86, of Marlborough died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012 at Madison House Care & Rehabilitation Center, Madison, Conn.  He was the husband of Doris M. (Neuhaus) Tobin, who died in January 2009. He was born in Framingham, the son of the late John J. and Catherine F. (Burke) Tobin, and was raised and educated in Marlborough, graduating from Marlborough High School, Class of 1944. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, serving in the European Theatre. Following an honorable discharge, he was in the Army National Guard and retired with the rank of Lt.Colonel in 1978. He graduated from Framingham State College in 1976, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in The Humanities. Tom worked for Riley Power, Inc. in Worcester, retiring as a production manager in 1992 after more than 40 years. He was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church, and the Massachusetts State and National Guard Veterans, Inc., active with his Marlborough High School Alumni planning and scholarships committee, celebrating their 65-year reunion in 2009. Tom loved his family and especially enjoyed his five grandchildren. Growing up during the Great Depression and being part of the greatest generation, he was hard working his entire life, understood the value of a dollar, and had great love for his family and country.

He leaves two sons, Philip K. Tobin of East Lansing, Mich., Alan S. Tobin, Esq. of Madison, Conn., and a daughter, Karen M. Tobin of Marlborough; a sister, Joan MacKenzie of Marlborough; five grandchildren, Taylor Tobin of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Shannon, Ryan, Kyle and Brynn, all of Madison. He was the brother of the late John J. Tobin of Texas, George F. Tobin of Greenfield, Mass., William P. Tobin of Marlborough, Richard P. Tobin of Florida, and a sister, Patricia A. Chapin of Marlborough. His funeral will be held Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 10:00 a.m., from the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home ( www.CollinsFuneral.com ), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street, Marlborough. Burial will follow with military honors in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough. Calling hours will be held Monday, Oct. 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home ( www.CollinsFuneral.com ), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Michael J.
