MARLBOROUGH - Thomas F. Mulcahy, 79, of Marlborough died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009 at Bolton Manor. He was the husband of Darlene A. (Gibson) Mulcahy for the past 52 years. Born in Roxbury, the son of the late Francis J. and Mildred E. (Ekstedt) Mulcahy, he was raised and educated in Maynard before moving to Marlborough many years ago. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, and owned and operated Mulcahy Tile for over 35 years. Tom loved working with his hands, was a talented carpenter and loved tinkering with cars. He also loved playing Keno.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, Thomas J. Mulcahy of Lowell and a daughter, Pamela A. Boudreau of Orange; a brother, Richard Mulcahy and his wife, Jeanne, of Nashua, N.H; a sister-in-law, Judith K. Brooks of California; nine grandchildren, Christopher Mulcahy of Portland, Ore., Eric Mulcahy of Windham, N.H., Jennifer Byrne and her husband, Michael, Crystal and Zachary DeMichele and Heather Boudreau, all of Marlborough, Rebecca Boudreau of Kent, Wash., and Jeffrey and Danielle Boudreau of Orange; a great-grandson, Liam T. Byrne of Marlborough; and many nephews and nieces. He was the father of Donna DeMichele, who died in 2005, and brother of the late Edward Mulcahy and Grace Finnila, both of Maynard.
His funeral and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.SFCFH.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
