Susan Odell Yazbek (Beaumont), age 71, passed away suddenly on January 2, 2026, at her home in Homosassa, Florida.
Susan grew up in Wayland and graduated from Wayland High School. Susan was the heart and center of her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, and her family was truly her everything in life. There was nothing that mattered more to her than being surrounded by those she loved —especially her mother, grandchildren, and her partner, Jimbo.
She leaves behind her beloved mother, Helen Barber of Marlboro her daughter and best friend, Amy Harden of Natick and her son, Richy Odell of Hudson. She was the proud and adoring grandmother of Erin Buckley and her partner Chandler, Vaughn Buckley and his partner Sage, Alex Gonzalez, and Rylee Odell. Susan is also survived by her brothers Jeff Barber, Scott Barber, and Robert Beaumont and his wife Millie. She also leaves behind her long-term partner of 25 years, James "Jimbo" Low; She was predeceased by her father, Robert Beaumont, and her sister, Joyce Blease.
Susan loved deeply and without judgment. She was a great listener, a steady presence, and someone people could always turn to. She spent over 30 years working as a waitress, forming lasting connections wherever she went. Although she moved to Florida 23 years ago, her heart never left home. She came back often, spending cherished time with her mother and being close to her family. Her greatest wish and goal was to return home permanently to be with them. She loved the beach, the sun, and the simple joys of life. She especially adored her little dog, Yoda, who brought her endless happiness.
Susan's passing has left an unimaginable void. Our world will never be the same without her, but her love, strength, and presence will live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be forever loved and deeply missed.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 31, from 11 AM -1 PM. in the Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. All are invited to sign Susan's online guestbook at collinsfuneral.com.
