MARLBOROUGH- Sister Lena Millette, Sister of the Good Shepherd, Contemplative died on Sunday Dec.10, 2006 in Epoch Nursing Center in Harwich, MA, after a long illness. She was 81years of age and had been a Sister of the Good Shepherd for 61years. She was a native of Tewksbury, MA, and attended St. Bridget's school. Sister Lena entered the community in Boston. MA and was committed to a lifestyle of prayer and a forth vow of Zeal to pray for the salvation of all God's people. Besides her ministry to pray she was assigned to the Altar Bread and Vestment Depts. as well as various services with in the community. She professed her First Vows on July 22, 1948. In 2000, Sister Lena, due to failing health was missioned to Epoch Nursing Center, where she received excellent care from the staff at Epoch. Sister Lena leaves no immediate relatives, but is survived by many devoted and loving friends, as well as her community of Sisters of the Good Shepherd. Visiting hours at Good Shepherd Center, 406 Hemenway St., Marlboro, MA will be held on Tue. Dec. 12, 2006 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. There will be a Prayer Service at 6:30 pm on Dec. 12th. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Good Shepherd Center Chapel in Marlboro at 11:00 a.m. on Wed. Dec. 13th. Burial will follow in Mount Benedict Cemetery, Boston. Sisters of the Good Shepherd, a worldwide Congregation, were founded in France by St. Mary Euphrasia in 1835. They came to Boston in 1867, to Marlboro in 1964 and to Harwich in 1990.
