Harwich- Sr. Helena Martha L'Heureux, R.G.S. died on April 10, 2007 after a long illness. She was 82 years of age and had been a Contemplative Sister of the Good Shepherd for 52 years. A native of Worcester, MA she was the daughter of Louis and Helen (Shea) L'Heureux. She attended St. Stephen's School, Worcester, MA. In 1954 Sister entered the Contemplative Sisters of the Good Shepherd in Peekskill, NY. She professed her First Vows on July 22, 1958. Sister spent her life praying for all the people of the world. She was also assigned to the making of host for parishes on the East Coast. She is survived by her sister Mrs. Anne Sherry of Pawtucket, RI, nieces and nephews survive Sister Martha. She also had two brothers, Philip and Robert, both deceased. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday April 13, 2007 at Good Shepherd Center Chapel in Marlboro at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Benedict Cemetery in West Roxbury, MA Visiting hours at Good Shepherd Center, 406 Hemenway Street, will be held on Thursday April 12th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. There will be a Prayer Service on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The Sisters of the Good Shepherd, a worldwide Congregation, were founded in France by St. Mary Euphrasia in 1835. They came to Boston in 1867, to Marlboro in 1964 and Harwich in 1991. Expressions of sympathy in Sister Martha's memory may be made to the Good Shepherd Retirement Fund, 88 Bank St., Harwichport, MA.
