Sister Ann Marie Boudreau, SSA, 94, a Sister of Saint Anne, died May 22, 2025, at Alliance Health at Marie Esther, 720 Boston Post Road East, following a decline in health.
She was born in Newton, MA, daughter of Edmund and Ella May Boudreau, the second of six children. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Anne in Lachine, PQ, Canada in 1948. She professed her first vows on July 24, 1950, after which she taught in elementary and secondary schools in the Montreal, QC area. She returned to the United States in 1974 where she continued her teaching career in high schools in Lynn and Worcester, MA. She served as Assistant Librarian at Nichols College in Dudley, at Holy Cross College in Worcester, and at Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA. After a Clinical Pastoral Education program (CPE), Sister Ann Marie served as hospital chaplain in Reading, PA, in Manchester, NH and in Worcester, MA. Sr. Ann Marie pursued many studies. She earned a B.A. in Education from Anna Marie College, Paxton, MA; an M.A. in Teaching from St. Michael's College, Winooski, VT; and an M.A. in Library Science from Villanova University, Villanova, PA.
She is pre-deceased by her parents Edmund and Ella May Boudreau; brothers Ernest, Ralph and Donald; and sisters Elaine (Boudreau) Cannon and May (Boudreau) Brouiette. She leaves to grieve, the Sisters of Saint Anne, her sister-in-law Evelyn Boudreau of Westerville, OH, many nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and many cousins.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, preceded by a wake from 9:45 – 10:15 at St. Anne Chapel, Alliance Health at Marie Esther, 720 Boston Post Road East, Marlborough, MA. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Retirement Fund of the Sisters of St. Anne, 406 Hemenway St. Box #30, Marlborough, MA 01752.
