Obituary

MARLBOROUGH,- Sr. Doris Mandeville, a Sister of St. Anne, known in religion as Sister Mary Jeanne Estelle, died at the age of 83, at Marlborough Hospital on December 22, 2008. She was in her 62nd year of religious life.
She was the daughter of the late Alcide and Donalda (Richard) Mandeville of Central Falls, RI. She completed her elementary and high school education at Notre Dame du S. C., in Central Falls, RI. Sister held a B. Ed from University of Montreal and a B.A. Degree from Anna Maria College, Paxton, MA. She did graduate Studies at the University of Maine. In 1944, Sister Mandeville entered the Novitiate of the Sisters of St. Anne in Lachine, QC and pronounced her vows in 1946. She began her teaching career in Montreal at St. Thomas Aquinas, Luke Callaghan Memorial, and St. Pius X High School where she was Vice-Principal for several years. Sister transferred to the United States Province in 1982, and served at St. Joseph Convent in Bradenton, FL, St. John the Baptist Convent in Ludlow, MA. She then went on to minister to the Elderly and Shut-ins, in Scituate, MA. She was also involved in Prayer Group Ministry in Cohasset, MA. She is survived by her sister Constance Bergeron and her husband Paul ,of Pawtucket, RI; her brother-in-law John Dion, of Lincoln, RI; and sister-in-law Mrs. Edith Dimarco Mandeville, of Bonita Springs, FL, and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her brothers, Bertrand, Rolland, and Raymond Mandeville, as well as her sister Agnes Dion.

The Wake will take place at St. Anne Convent, 720 Boston Post Road East, Marlborough. on Sunday, December 28, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, December 29, at 10 a.m., in the Convent Chapel. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Marlborough at a later date. .
