MARLBOROUGH- Sr. Jacqueline Dubois, 86, a Sister of St. Anne, known in religion as Sister Marie Anne Carmen, was born to eternal life on April 14, 2026 at Alliance Health at Marie Esther, 720 Boston Post Road East, following a decline in health. She was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. She was the oldest of eight children born to Herve and Germaine (St. Pierre) Dubois. She completed her elementary education at St. James School in Manville RI. She obtained her high school diploma from the former Saint Anne Academy in Marlborough and received her BA in Education from Anna Maria College in Paxton MA, also earning an MA in Pastoral Counseling from Emmanuel College in Boston MA. She was CPE certified and was a Reiki Practitioner. She served as a member of the Neighborhood Friendly Visitor Program in the Diocese of Providence Rhode Island. In 1958, Jackie entered the novitiate of the Sisters of Saint Anne in Marlborough and professed her first vows in 1960. She was an elementary school teacher in St Joseph’s, Cohoes, NY, Holy Name in Worcester, St. James, Manville RI as well as at Notre Dame, Central Falls, RI, and was Principal at St. Matthew-Notre Dame Consolidated School in Central Falls, RI. She was a Pastoral Associate in St. Barnabas Parish, Portsmouth RI. She also served as a Hospital Chaplain and Director of Pastoral Care at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA. She was a Hospice Chaplain for several years. She has lived a prayerful and fulfilling vowed life for 66 yrs. On April 14, 2026 she answered the call of God one last time, the God she was so ready to meet face-to-face. She is pre-deceased by her sister, Aline Proctor, and brothers, Maurice, Denis and Richard. She is survived by her two brothers Charles and his wife, Christine, and Rene and his wife, Elizabeth, and many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, several cousins, and the Sisters of Saint Anne.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM at St. Anne Chapel at Alliance Health at Marie Esther, Marlborough, MA preceded by a wake at 9:30 AM Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sisters of Saint Anne Retirement Fund or a charity of donor's choice.
