Marlborough- Sr. Marie Claire Croisetiere, 90, died Saturday February 7, 2015 at Marie Esther Health Care Center. She was born  in New Bedford in 1924, the daughter of the late Florimond and Anne Marie Gobeil- Croisetiere. Sr. Marie Claire entered the Little Sisters of the Assumption in 1944 in Canada.   She made her final vows in 1953 in Paris, France. For over 70 years  Sr. Marie Claire lovingly  served families in need  in Canada, Massachusetts, New York, and  Pennsylvania.  She spent 17 years on mission serving in Rome and Milan , Italy.

A gentle and compassionate woman, Sr. Marie Claire , had a special way of  warmly engaging  everyone she encountered.   Being of service to others was a passion in her life.  No one was beyond her caring reach.  Her generous spirit and giving heart touched many a grateful recipient.  Her family, her Religious Life and friends were a source of great love and joy in her life.

She leaves her brother Louis Croisetiere and his wife Janice of Rochester, NH; two nephews, Leo Croisetiere and wife Ruth Ann of Dover, NH and Col. Paul Croisetiere and wife Susan of  Drayden, MD; three grand nephews, John, Jeffrey and Gregory and a grand niece Sophie. She was pre-deceased by her sister-in-law Sophie who died exactly forty years ago.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday February 11 at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel at St. Anne's Convent, 720 Boston Post Road East, Marlborough. A time of visitation will be held Wednesday, prior to the Mass at the convent from 9-10:30 a.m. Burial will be held in New York at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home ( www.CollinsFuneral.com ), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
