In Loving Memory of Silvia Sena (Costa) Afiune
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Silvia Sena (Costa) Afiune, 50, beloved mother, sister, friend, and cherished member of the community, who passed away Sunday January 19, 2025. She was the wife of Hervey Afiune for the past 28 years.
She was born, raised and educated in Anapolis, Goias, Brazil and was the daughter of Delcides Luis Costa and Marluce Spindola Costa.
Silvia was a talented real estate broker with Dell Realty for many years, where her expertise and dedication made a lasting impact. Her creativity extended beyond her professional life—she was also an accomplished interior designer, and her home was a reflection of her vibrant personality, full of beauty and warmth. Silvia had a special touch that could transform any space into something extraordinary, and she poured that same love and care into the beautiful gardens she cultivated.
Silvia's passion for travel allowed her to explore several countries, each journey enriching her life and deepening her love for new experiences and cultures. Among her favorite destinations were Cancun and Tulum Mexico, where she created lifelong memories.
At the heart of Silvia's life was her family. She loved nothing more than hosting family gatherings, often preparing her signature Feijoada for birthday celebrations and special occasions. Her home was a place of love, laughter, and delicious food, where all felt welcome.
Silvia's devotion to others extended beyond her family. She was known for her kind, compassionate nature and her unwavering desire to help those in need. Whether through lending a hand to a friend or offering support to someone in her community, Silvia's generosity knew no bounds. She was a driven, loving, and compassionate woman, whose kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Silvia was also the proud and loving owner of her cherished dog, Zoe, whose companionship brought her immense joy.
She will be remembered as a woman of strength, grace, and warmth—someone who lived life to the fullest and touched the hearts of many. Her legacy of kindness, love, and creativity will live on in the memories of all who knew her.
She leaves two sons, Hervey Afiune, Jr and Peter Afiune both of Hudson; two brothers, Luciano Costa and his wife Irla of Goias, Brazil and Dell Costa of Dracut; a sister Juliana Costa of Watertown; five nephews and nieces, Benjamin, Ana Julia, Isabela, Luciano and Amanda Costa who passed away October 6, 2023; many cousins and many friends.
All are invited to sign Silvia's online guestbook at collinsfuneral.com. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
