Obituary

MARLBOROUGH - Rose S. (Gage) Robideau, 79, of Marlborough, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at her home after a long illness. She was the wife of James W. Robideau, who died in 2005. She was born in Waltham and raised in Weston, the daughter of George and Vassa (Miles) Gage. Rose, a graduate of Weston High School, was a payroll clerk for Tommy's Taxi in Framingham for many years before retiring in 1990. She previously worked in the payroll department of Frye Boot for many years. She leaves a son, Richard P. Place, and his wife Debra of Clinton and five daughters, Phyllis A. Bowser, and her husband Wink of Marlborough, Bette J. Britton, and her husband Frank of Paris, Maine, Sandra L. Place of Marlborough, Brenda J. Choiniere, and her husband Joe of Nevada and Pattie S. Osgood, and her husband Tracey of Marlborough; a sister, Marion Wright of New Hampshire; 15 grandsons and five granddaughters; and many great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, William G. Place and Clay R. Place, and her daughter, Elaine R. Bonneau of Falmouth. Rose enjoyed crafts, sewing, gardening, swimming, shopping, crossword puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, Oct. 9, at 10 a.m., in the Lincoln Chapel of the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.SFCFH.com), 378 Lincoln St., Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. Instead of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL. 60601-7633.
