Obituary

Marlborough- Rosario L "Raz", "Blacky" Tucci Jr., 77 originally from Waltham, died on Tuesday May 22 at his home in Marlborough after a long battle with cancer, with his family by his side. He was the husband of Patricia R. (Duffy) Tucci for the last 50 years. Born and educated in Waltham the son of the late Rosario Sr. and Molly "Mary" (Capone) Tucci. He had been a Marlborough resident for more than 45 years, owning various sub shops & diners in the city which included Raz's Pizza, Raz's Sub Shop and Raz's Diner. Mr. Tucci was also employed for many years by the American Home Inspection Agency of Wakefield, before going into business with his son as the Sr. foreman of Tucci Development in Marlborough. Raz spent most of his free time with his grandchildren; he enjoyed watching all of their sports, including karate, football, baseball, hockey, and cheerleading. He was also an avid Patriots & Red Sox fan. His hobbies were camping, tinkering around the house and fishing with his grandchildren. He also took pride in his choice to become one of the elite; at a young age he joined the Untied States Marine Corp. and was a veteran of the Korean War. 'SEMPER FIDELIS' Besides his wife he leaves two daughters, Tammy Doiron, and her husband Rosaire of Waltham, Patti Szretter, and her husband Greg of Hudson; three sons Paul, and his wife Jean of Boylston, Rosario, and his wife Debbie of New Brunswick NJ, and Patrick, and his former wife Nadine of Marlborough. He also has fourteen grandsons, six granddaughters, three great grandsons and two great granddaughters; He leaves his brother John Tucci of Saugus; two sisters Jean Ventura, and her husband John of Wakefield and Joyce Crisafulli of Waltham and his father-in-law John Piazza of Methuen. He was the brother of the late Paul Tucci and the son-in-law of the late Ann Piazza. He also leaves a large extended family of his grand puppy "Bella", aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday May 25, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Matthias Church, Hemenway Street, Marlborough. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough. Calling hours will be held on Thursday May 24, 2007 from 4-9 p.m. in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.SFCFH.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
