Robert C. "Bob" McGovern, Jr. , 30, of Marlborough died unexpectedly on  Saturday May 4, 2024.

He was born in Framingham, the only child of Brenda L. Beatty and the late Robert C. McGovern.  He was raised and educated in Marlborough and was a chef at Wayside Inn.  He also worked in the construction field during the Pandemic.  He was a caring person with a passion for cooking, music, outdoor adventures like white water rafting, and the simple pleasure of driving with no destination in mind. His love for horses also spoke to a deep connection with nature and animals.

He leaves his mother Brenda L. Beatty of Clinton; his maternal grandmother Betty Beatty Pasciuti of Marlborough; two aunts, Darlene Robbins of Maynard and Lurleen Orrel of Gloucester; one uncle Martin Beatty, III of Marlborough and many cousins.

Visitation will be held Saturday may 18 from 2-4 PM in the Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.   Burial will be private.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Collins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to assist with unexpected funeral expenses.  Donations may be made directly to the funeral home by clicking on the Donations tab on Bob's obituary.
