IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rene
Fernandez
February 2, 1962 – December 8, 2023
Marlborough- Rene Fernandez, 61, of Marlborough died Saturday December 8, 2023 at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida after battling complications from his diabetes and heart failure since 2017. He was the husband of Gricela Rodriguez for the past 34 years.
He was born in Santa Barbara, Honduras the son of Domingo Fernandez and Martha Pineda. Rene was an electrician for many years and a private contractor to many companies in Honduras. He was well known among his colleagues as "maistro" which translates to "master" meaning his work was impeccable. He tried to teach everything he knew about electricity to all the workers he hired and that is why he was so loved by all of them. He loved to read and was fascinated by outer space, UFOs and the possibility that our bodies are pure electricity and there were other dimensions that were unknown. He adored his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered by all that knew him not only for his love and care for his family but also for his wonderful sense of humor and his beautiful smile. He never had second thoughts when it came to offering a helping hand to anyone in need. He worked very hard because his greatest dream was to give the best education to his children. He was extremely proud of all his children and knew each one of them very well. He would call and say he needed to see their faces to really know how they were doing. It really worked! He cherished each one of his kids' uniqueness and was very proud of all of them.
He loved his son and daughters in law which are Diogenes, Cheyenne, and Katherine. He was sure Diogenes, also being a contractor, would be his next trainee for electricity. To him, his in-laws were also his children. Including Luvian, whom he loved very much and is now reunited with him in the presence of God.
He leaves his wife Gricela Rodriguez of Marlborough; Two sons, Rene Fernandez of Brighton and Jorge Fernandez of Honduras; two daughters, Clarissa Fernandez of Marlborough and Norma Fernandez of Hopkinton; six brothers and sisters, Ferdinand Fernandez, Hector Antonio Fernandez, Juan Carlos Fernandez, Daylin Sierra, Ana Pineda and Isolina Mesa of Honduras and four granddaughters, Melyssa, Melanie and Meghan Porto Fernandez and Abigail Fernandez and one grandson, Juan David Fernandez of Honduras.
He also leaves many great friendships built among all the people around him.
