Marlborough – Paul F. Lepore, Jr., 98, of Marlborough, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester. He was the beloved husband of the late Lillian R. (Branconnier) Lepore, who predeceased him in 2013.

Born, raised, and educated in Marlborough, Paul was the son of the late Paul F. and Doris (Belmore) Lepore. He graduated from Marlborough High School, where he was a member of the undefeated 1944 football team. In recognition of that remarkable achievement, the team was later inducted into the Marlborough High School Hall of Fame.

Paul proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and participated in the Occupation of China in 1946. Following his military service, he returned home to Marlborough, where he built a life centered on family, faith, and community. He was an electric lineman for Mass Electric for 30 years, retiring in 1989. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Matthias Church.

Paul found great joy in the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. One of his greatest traditions was spending time with his family at Pierce Pond in Maine, a journey he began in 1951 and faithfully continued throughout his life. He had been a member of the Pierce Pond Watershed Trust since its creation. The trust's goal is to keep the area as undisturbed wilderness. Paul was a devoted Boston sports fan, especially of the Red Sox. In his younger years, he enjoyed golfing, and for many years he took pride in tending the vegetable garden at his home.

Above all, Paul was a quiet, kind, and humble man who was deeply proud of his country and cherished the time he spent with his family. His greatest joy came from being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose lives were enriched by his gentle presence, steady example, and unwavering love.

He is survived by his two sons, Michael J. Lepore and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Shrewsbury, and Peter J. Lepore and his wife, Catherine, of Worcester; his daughter, Margaret "Peg" Bastien of Falmouth; his son-in-law, Francis Bastien of Dennis; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Lillian, he was predeceased by his daughter, Susan Kay. .

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 27, at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Mathias Church, Hemenway Street. Burial with military honors will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 26, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
