HUDSON - Norman E. Garceau, 86, of Hudson and formerly of Marlborough, died unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 at his home.  He was the husband of Helen D. (Johansen) Garceau, who died in 2005.  Born and raised in Marlborough, the son of the late Arthur J. and Eva (Garceau) Garceau, he was a graduate of Marlborough High School and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of WWII, serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. Following an honorable discharge, Norman worked at Hill Brothers Shoe Factory and later at General Motors in Framingham as a quality control inspector. During his 33 years at GM he continued working evenings at Hill Brothers to support his family. He retired from GM in 1983. A quiet, reflective man, forever in thought, he loved being with his family and going to his home in Hillsborough, N.H. on Franklin Pierce Lake where he enjoyed hunting and camping with his family. He was member of the former Marlborough CB Club. He loved baseball and football, playing a good game of cards, repairing watches and tinkering about the house, taking things apart and putting them back together. He leaves a son, Joseph W. Cusella and his wife, Judith, of Torrance, Calif., and a daughter, Linda E. Josephson of Marlborough; three brothers, Roland Garceau of Billerica, Ernest and Donald Garceau, both of Florida and three sisters, Stella Rydant, Lorraine Duca and her husband, Joe, and Eva Poland, all of Marlborough; 10 grandchildren, Debra Mercer of Douglas, Tammy Arens of Colorado, Joseph Cusella of Northborough, David Cusella of Grafton, Brenda, Billy and Bobby Cusella, all of California, Shannon Frate of Winchester, Denise Larocque of Quebec, Canada and Crystal Josephson of Marlborough; twenty-five great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.; many nephews and niece. He was pre-deceased by his daughter Carol Gaucher of Marlborough.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, Feb.24 at 11 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street, Marlborough.  Burial with military honors will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street.  Calling hours will be held Thursday, Feb. 23, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home ( www.CollinsFuneral.com ), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.  Flowers may be sent or donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O.
