MARLBOROUGH - Mathew M. Merrill, 22, of Marlborough died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012 at UMass Medical Center, Worcester after a long illness. He was born in Natick, the son of Sheila L. (Wesinger) Mottla of Marlborough and Herbert Merrill of Shrewsbury.  Matt was a graduate of Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School, Class of 2009.  Matt enjoyed working on cars, music and basketball, as well as drawing and painting.  Besides his parents, he leaves several uncles and aunts, including Stephen P. Wesinger of Marlborough, John R. Wesinger of Hudson, Albert J. Wesinger, Jr. of Boylston, and Donna M. Schavone of Boylston; and many cousins.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home ( www.CollinsFuneral.com ), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
