NORWOOD - Mary O'Neil, 87, of Norwood died Monday, June 3, 2013 at Beth Israel Hospital after a brief illness. She was born, raised and educated in Boston, the daughter of the late John F. and Mary G. (Leonard) O'Neil, and was a graduate of Mount St. Joseph Catholic High School and later attended Curry College. Mary was a bookkeeper for the Mass. Bay Transit Authority for over 40 years before retiring many years ago. An elegant lady, she travelled the world, loved to read, and to visit beaches. She was thoughtful, independent, sophisticated and generous.  Mary was a member of St. Margaret Mary Parish in Westwood. She leaves her brother, Col. John J. O'Neil, U.S.A. Ret., and his wife, Sandra, of Arnold, Md.; a nephew, John J. O'Neil, Jr. also of Arnold; several cousins and a very dear friend, John DiCesare, of Norwood. She was the sister of the late Joseph O'Neil, and a very dear friend of the late Mary Landry- DiCesare of Norwood.
