NORWOOD - Mary M. (Sheehan) Landry-DiCesare, 67, of Norwood died peacefully Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Norwood Hospital after a brief illness. She was the loving wife of John A. DiCesare for the past 13 years. She was born, raised and educated in Norwood, the daughter of the late John J. and M. Stella (Ferland) Sheehan. Known around town as "the bank lady," Mary worked as a teller at Peoples Federal Savings Bank for many years. Previously, she was a waitress at several area restaurants, including Isabella's, and was a licensed real estate sales person for many years. She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, sewing, knitting, crocheting and was a devoted and diehard Patriots fan, as well as a devoted fan of her granddaughter Christina's hockey games at NHS and Tabor Academy. She was vivacious, caring, loving, and will be missed by all who had the true pleasure of knowing her. Mary was a simple but elegant woman with a heart of gold. She loved life and people. Always ready to help while never expecting anything in return.
She leaves two sons, John F. Landry and his wife, Kelly, of Norwood and James M. Landry and his wife, Jennifer, of Milford;, and a daughter, Cheryl A. Frasca and her husband, Michael, of Norwood; her devoted sister, Theresa A. Holland of Marlborough; a stepson, Arron J. DiCesare of New York and four stepdaughters, Elaine Schmidt of Carlsbad, Calif., Deidre DiCesare of Clinton, Karin DiCesare of Woburn and Andrea Peixoto of Dedham; 14 grandchildren, Michael, Christina, Jacalyn, Zachary, Sean, Rachel, Dylan, Thomas, Andrew, Henry, Kayla, Alexia, Julie and Anthony; and many nephews and nieces who loved her dearly. She was the sister-in-law of Marilyn Riciputi of Braintree. She was predeceased by three brothers, John, Garrett and Michael Sheehan.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, April 11 at 10 a.m., at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington Street, Norwood, with burial to follow in Highland Cemetery, 320 Winter Street, Norwood. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, April 10 from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington Street, Norwood. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
