HUDSON - Marilyn (Phillips) Daniels, 63, of Hudson and formerly of Marlborough, died Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Marlborough Hospital after being stricken ill at home earlier Friday morning. She was the wife of Clarence E. Daniels who died last July. She was born, raised and educated in Georgetown, Guyana, the daughter of the late Robert A. and Olga (Alexander) Phillips, and was a graduate of Allen Commercial High School in Georgetown, Guyana. Marilyn was an account representative at Staples for 10 years, retiring in 2011. Prior to that, she worked at Marlborough Hospital and Marlborough Orthopedics, both for many years. She was a member of the Hudson Seventh Day Adventist Church, enjoyed gardening, fishing, and as a young woman loved ballet dancing and was quite accomplished. She absolutely adored her grandchildren, husband and family. She was a loyal, devoted, caring and compassionate woman who had the gift of being able to make you comfortable from the moment she met you. From the moment she spoke, she brought you an instant smile and calm would come over you. She leaves three sons, Glaston A. Phillips and his wife, Sonia, of East Stroudsburg, Pa , Ronkay N. Daniels and his wife, Sarah, of Hudson, Mark A. Daniels and his wife, Christa, of Worcester, two brothers, Conrad Phillips of Somerville and William Phillips of Guyana, and two sisters, Barbara Sweet of White River Junction, Vt. and Pauline Phillips of Vancouver, Canada; eight grandchildren, Tiffany White, Ashley and Crystal Phillips, all of East Stroudsburg, Maliyah and Kira Daniels, both of Hudson, Mikayla and Christopher Daniels, and Kyle Sebanskyanski, all of Worcester, and a great-grandson, Kaiden White of East Stroudsburg, and many nephews and nieces. She was the sister of the late Michael Phillips and Hazel Griffith, both of Guyana.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 10 at 1:30 p.m. at the Hudson Seventh Day Adventist Church, 94 Marlboro Street, Hudson. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held Friday, August 9 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home ( www.CollinsFuneral.com ), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. Instead of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
