MARLBOROUGH - Marilee D. (Chase) Bratkon, 68, of Marlborough died Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Marlborough Hospital after being stricken ill earlier in the day. She was the wife of James A. Bratkon for the past 48 years. She was born in Worcester, raised and educated in Marlborough, the daughter of the late Harry and Doris (Smith) Chase. Marilee worked for the former Digital Equipment Corp. in Westborough, Westminster and Northborough for more than 20 years. Following her retirement, she worked at Walgreen's in Marlborough. She enjoyed tending to her garden, traveling to Florida, her dog "Tina," and was a kind woman devoted to her family.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, James A. Bratkon, Jr. of Holliston and a daughter, Victoria A. Bratkon of Boca Raton, Fla.; four brothers, Harry Chase, Jr. of Marlborough, Robin Chase of Daytona Beach, Fla., Donald Chase of Hudson and Alvah Chase of Marlborough; three sisters, Judy Demers of Marlborough, Nancy Libby of Marlborough and Cindy Crandal of Worcester; two grandchildren, Bianca Bratkon and Nicholas Bratkon both of Framingham; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 6 at 10 a.m., in the Lincoln Chapel of the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. Burial will be private, following cremation.
