AUBURN - Margaret (Edwards) MacLeod, 96, of Auburn and formerly of Bourne, died Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Life Care Center of Auburn. She was the wife of the late Harold R. MacLeod. Born in Malden, raised in Somerville and a graduate of Somerville High School, Class of 1930, she was the daughter of the late John O. and Margaret (Johnston) Edwards. Margaret worked for many years as a bookkeeper in the Boston area for several companies. She was a member of the Auburn First Congregational Church. She leaves a son, Scott H. MacLeod of North Oxford and a daughter, Jean L. Whitin of Monkton, Md.; a brother, John O. Edwards of Orange, Conn., and a sister, Eleanor M. White of Port Charlotte, Fla.; two grandsons and two great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. She was the sister of the late Russell Edwards of Port Charlotte and Myrtle Alexander of Harpswell, Maine.
A memorial service will be held Monday August 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Congregational Church of Oxford, 355 Main Street, Oxford. Private burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. There are no calling hours. In lieu in flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
