MARLBOROUGH - Margaret (Mallory) Clifford, 72, of Marlborough and formerly of Somesville, Mt. Desert Island Maine died Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Marlborough Hospital.  She was born, raised and educated in Brookline, the daughter of the late George Kenneth Mallory, M.D., former director of the Mallory Institute of Pathology, and Carol (Fisher) Mallory (Ph.D. zoology).  Margaret was a graduate of The Windsor School in Boston and later received her Bachelor of Science degree from Wellesley College. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed gardening and animals, especially dogs and cats. She leaves two sons, Donald Clifford of Sudbury, Christopher Clifford of Stow, and a daughter, Tracey Clifford (Ed.D. counseling psychology) of Chicago; a brother, G. Kenneth Mallory Jr. of Newton Highlands and a sister, Nancy L. Mallory of Wrentham; and four grandchildren, Sarah and Nathan Clifford of Sudbury, and Abigail and Adam Clifford of Stow. She was the mother of Virginia Ann Clifford, who died in 1960 . A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 29 at the First Parish of Sudbury, Unitarian Universalist ( www.fpsudbury.org ) , 327 Concord Road, Sudbury, MA.
