BERKWITZ-Lorraine (Gutterman) Berkwitz, 79, of Marlborough and formerly of Brookline, died at home Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010. She was the wife of Aaron R. Berkwitz, who died in 2006. She was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Harry and Gladys (Sandler) Gutterman. Lorraine was a graduate of Dorchester High School and worked for John Hancock Insurance Co. in Boston and Jordan Marsh in Auburndale for many years. She enjoyed reading, knitting, crafts, needlepoint, and dancing the jitterbug. Lorraine was a very social, personable woman who will be missed by all those who loved her. She leaves a son, Brian M. Berkwitz and his wife, Anne, of Acton and three daughters, Paula and Joyce Berkwitz, both of Shrewsbury, and Alyce Smith of Westwood; five grandchildren, Sean, Jessica, Max, Casey and Molly; and a nephew, Jim Forrest of Lynn. She was the sister of the late Esta Forrest of Lynn. Following cremation, burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery.
