Lois E. (Simmermon) Costello, 62, of Worcester and formerly of Marlborough, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Rose Manahan Hospice Home in Worcester. She was born in New Jersey, the daughter of Hazel L. (Poole) Simmermon of Peterborough, N.H., and the late A. William Simmermon. Raised in Sudbury, she was a graduate of Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School and was an administrative assistant for the Town of Stow in the planning department for many years, retiring last year. Previously she worked for the Town of Wayland for many years and Lewis Boyle in Waltham for over 20 years. She was an avid reader who enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques--especially teacups--and loved animals, and leaves behind her husky, Mandy. A devoted and loving mother and grandmother, she leaves a daughter, Kelley Howland, and her husband, Steven, of Worcester; a brother, William A. Simmermon of Maple Valley, Wash., and a sister, Ruth K. Wilson of Rutland, Vt.; two granddaughters, Shay and Quinn Howland of Worcester;she was the former wife of the late John G. Costello, and leaves many nephews, nieces and many close friends.
A funeral service will be held Monday, May 17, at 10 a.m. , at the Lincoln Chapel of the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.CollinsFuneral.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held Sunday, May 16, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
