MARLBOROUGH - Lillian B. (Westcott) Aldrich, 81, of Marlborough and formerly of Hudson, died Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center. She was the wife of Robert E. Aldrich, Jr. of Marlborough for the past 50 years. Born and raised in Cambridge, the daughter of the late Alfred and Mary (Hamblen) Westcott, she moved to Marlborough in 1957. Lillian worked for Data General in Westborough for 15 years before retiring in 1982. She loved reading, walks, drawing and painting, shopping, and music, and had recently celebrated her 81st birthday on May 12 with her loving family. Lillian was truly one of a kind, a caring, giving, compassionate, loving woman. Besides her husband she leaves two sons, Robert E. Aldrich, III of Hudson and Richard A. Aldrich of Marlborough, and two daughters, Barbara A. Griffin of Florida and Donna M. Blanchette of Lancaster; a sister, Marie Fiat of Vermont; nine grandchildren, Keith, Heidi, April, Matthew, Holly, Jacob, Cory, Zach and Luke; three great-grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, May 19 from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.CollinsFuneral.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. A service celebrating Lillian's life will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Following cremation, burial will be private.
