South Attleboro- Lillian L. (Walsh) Busby, 90, of South Attleboro died Thanksgiving day at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater. She was the wife of the late George R. Busby who died in 1987. Lillian was born in Somerville, the daughter of the late John H. and Esther (Furhman) Walsh, and was a graduate of Cambridge High and Latin School Class of 1941. She was the Secretary to the Department Head of Guidance Counselor's Office at Attleboro High School where she worked for22 years retiring in 1987. Lillian was a member of St Theresa of the Child Jesus Parish and the Retired State, County and Municipal Employees Association of Massachusetts. She loved travelling, roller skating in her younger years, needlepoint and crafts. She was an avid reader who enjoyed her family and a close circle of dear friends. She leaves two sons, Richard H. Busby of Oregon and Robert E. Busby of Exeter, Maine; her brother Edward T. "Eddy" Walsh of Canton; two grandchildren, Michael & Jennifer Busby; nieces Dianne Waugh of Mansfield, CT. MaryAnne Walsh of Foxboro; nephews, Gerard Walsh of Norton and Edward Walsh Jr. of Easton; and her very dear friend Theresa A. Holland of Marlborough. She was the mother of the late Glen J. Busby who died in 2005.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday December 7 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, 18 Baltic Street, South Attleboro. Burial will follow in Newell Burying Grounds, 1502 West Street. A time of visitation will be held Saturday prior to the Mass from 9:00-10:30 a.m. in CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham MA 02019. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home ( www.CollinsFuneral.com ), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
