MARLBOROUGH- Laura E. (Baldwin) Pitard, 83, of Marlborough died peacefully Friday December 27, 2013 at her home, surrounded by family. She was the wife of Albert K. Pitard for the last 60 years. She was born in Amsterdam, NY the daughter of the late William C. and Ethelyne (Hanlon) Baldwin, and was a graduate of Marlborough High School Class of 1948. She was a bookkeeper for Thom McAn Shoe Co. in Worcester for many years. Laura enjoyed reading, crafts, knitting, crosswords, Bingo and camping under the Bourne Bridge. She was a former member of the "Mother of Twins Club" and a member of AARP. Besides her husband she leaves two sons, William A. Pitard and his wife Louise Pitard of Virginia and Jared J. Pitard and his partner Steve Sagady of San Diego, Calif.; three daughters, LeeAnn Devoe and her husband Ronald and Deborah J. Pitard all of Marlborough; Elaine M. Stangler and her husband Richard of San Diego, Calif.; a sister Janet M. Panagore and her husband Peter of South Dennis; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Lynn, Sarah, Nicole, Staci, Ashley, Amber and Michael; five great grandchildren, Trent, Damon, CJ, Taylor and EB.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Sisters of the Good Shepherd Chapel, 400 Hemenway Street. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street. Calling hours will be held Friday from 5-8 p.m. in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home ( www.CollinsFuneral.com ), 378 Lincoln Street.
