MARLBOROUGH- Kevin J. "Fitzy" Fitzgerald, 47 of Marlborough died Monday February 26, 2007 in Marlborough hospital after a lengthy illness. He leaves his beloved, Cynthia J. Kenney of Marlborough with whom he lived; a son Ryan J. Fitzgerald of Marlborough; two daughters, Shawna L. and Kara M. Fitzgerald both of Marlborough; two brothers, William G. Fitzgerald and his wife, Michele of Plymouth and James M. Fitzgerald and his wife, Barbara of Watertown; a sister Annemarie Fitzgerald of Mashpee; many uncles and aunts, including John Fitzgerald and his wife, Joanne of Watertown and Margaret "Peggy" Rand of Scituate; three nephews, a niece and many cousins. He was raised in Watertown, the son of William J. Fitzgerald of Watertown and the late Philomena (Sullivan) Fitzgerald who passed away November 27, 2006. He was a 1977 graduate of St. Patrick's High School in Watertown and played varsity basketball, football and baseball. A licensed electrician for over 20 years and was a very active member of the Marlboro Fish & Game Association where he served on it s Board in various capacities and founded the "Vet's Derby", a fundraising annual fishing derby established to raise money for the Disabled American Veterans. He was also a member of the Marlboro Eagles, an avid outdoorsman who loved the ocean, deep sea fishing, traveling to the Caribbean, Astronomy and hunting. Fitzy will be remembered by all as a loving son, father, brother and friend who was known for his incredible ability to make people laugh. A charming man that relished in helping others and truly was that person to give you the "shirt off his back" A funeral service will be held Friday March 2, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in the Lincoln Chapel of the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.SFCFH.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held Thursday March 1, 2007 from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
