MARLBOROUGH - Kelly A. (Padula) Mongeau, 50, of Petersham and formerly of Marlborough, died at home Saturday, April 13, 2013 after a three and a-half-year battle with cancer. She was the wife of Joseph H. Mongeau for the last 24 years. Kelly was born, raised and educated in Marlborough, the daughter of Rozelle (Seymoure) Tucker of Fernandina Beach, Fla., and the late Robert D. Padula, who died last year. A graduate of Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School, Class of 1981, she utilized her graphic art skills at Concepts Unlimited in Acton and later at Easter Rainbow in Derry, N.H. Kelly later was the manager and a manicurist at Rumors Salon in Marlborough for 10 years and most recently, worked as a teacher's aide for Petersham Center School for five years. She loved working with children, horseback riding and fishing . Kelly was a truly selfless woman; she prided herself in helping her family, friends, and strangers. She will always be remembered for her integrity and her strength. Kelly was an inspiration to everyone she met.

She leaves two sons, Ryan M. and Jacob T. Mongeau and her daughter, Carly E. Mongeau, all of Petersham; a brother, Donald R. Padula of Barre; many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins; six brothers and sisters-in-law, Peter Mongeau and his wife, Maria, of Marlborough, George Mongeau and his wife, Donna, of Hudson, Sheila Haggan and her husband, Michael, of Camden, Me., Yvette Holladay of Salem, N.H , James Mongeau and his wife, Maureen, of Berlin and Daniel Mongeau and his wife, Lisa, of Northbridge; and several close friends including, Lisa Ledoux of Marlborough, Karen Brady of Westborough and Christine Bastien of Marlborough.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, April 19 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street, Marlborough. Burial following cremation will be private.  Calling hours will be held Thursday, April 18 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home ( www.CollinsFuneral.com ), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
